大鰐の湯っこ

大鰐温泉は建久年間(1190～1198)に東国を行脚していた円智上人が発見したと伝えられています。

江戸時代には津軽藩の湯治場として津軽氏の歴代藩主も訪れ、御仮屋と呼ばれる館が設置されました。
また、明治時代には奥羽本線大鰐駅が開業したことから温泉場はさらに大勢の湯治客で賑わったをいわれています。

そんな800年以上の歴史ある大鰐温泉郷は、長きにわたり湯治・療養の場として親しまれており、令和となった今では古き良き昭和の時代を彷彿とさせるノスタルジックな風情が漂います。
津軽の奥座敷として親しまれてきた貴重な「大鰐の湯っこ(※東北の言葉で温泉のこと)」は、情緒と魅力にあふれる温泉地としてさらなる発展を目指しています。

大鰐の中心街を流れる平川の両岸に佇む温泉宿の数々が、アットホームなおもてなしで温泉客の皆さまをお待ちしております。

Owani Onsen is said to have been discovered by Enchi Shonin during his pilgrimage in the eastern part of Japan in the Kengyu period (1190-1198).
In the Edo period (1603-1867), it was used as a therapeutic bath for the Tsugaru clan, and the successive lords of the Tsugaru clan also visited the area, where a pavilion called Okariya was established.
In the Meiji era (1868-1912), the Owani-station of the Ou Main Line was opened and the hot spring resort was crowded with many more visitors.

Owani Onsen-kyo, which has a history of more than 800 years, has long been a popular place for hot-spring cures and medical treatment, and now that 2025 has come and gone, it has a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the good old Showa period.
The precious “Owani-no-Yukko (*Tohoku word for hot spring)” has been loved as a backstage resort of Tsugaru, and is aiming for further development as a hot spring resort full of emotion and charm.

Many hot spring resorts on both banks of Hirakawa River, which flows through the center of Owani, are waiting for you with their homelike hospitality.

主な泉質は塩化物―硫酸塩泉。無色透明のまろやかなお湯で、湯治療養としては病後回復期に向いています。飲泉もできる施設が多く、胃腸の調子を整えてくれることが期待できます。
大日如来のお告げで発見されたというだけあって、昔から効能高い湯治場として知られており、江戸時代にはなんと温泉番付に載っていたほどです。
